Dayton Section

Joint Dayton ACS Section Poster Session and SAMPE Midwest Student Research Symposium with Industry Collaborative

This year, the American Chemical Society (ACS) Dayton Section will be teaming up with the Midwest Chapter of the Society for the Advancement of Material and Process Engineering (SAMPE) to host our annual events. We will have opportunities for students and professionals to present their research. In addition, vendors will be hosting booths during the poster session, and the ACS Dayton Section will be presenting this year's Patterson College Chemistry Awards to the best junior Chemistry majors from area universities.

Call for Abstracts

There are two types of presentations available. It is important that you pay attention to the different parameters.

Presentation Types
  SAMPE Midwest Student Research Symposium ACS Dayton Section Poster Session
Who Can Present Undergraduate and graduate students (not professionals) All welcome
Number of Presenters per Presentation Individual only Group presentations accepted
Membership Requirement SAMPE membership required (registration; student membership costs $20) No requirement
Scope Original research on material and/or process engineering Original research on any area of chemistry, broadly defined.
Type of Presentation Oral presentation (15 minutes long + 5 minutes for Q&A) Poster presentation (3' high, 4' wide)
Awards Overall graduate winner will earn the opportunity to compete at the national University Student Symposium held in September at CAMX 2019 (Anaheim, CA) with all expenses paid upon submission of a paper. Cash prizes will be awarded to all. Cash awards for best undergraduate and graduate presenters
