Dayton Section

Election 2018!

It's time for our annual elections again!  This year, we will be putting forward candidates for the following positions. It's a bit of a weird year due to a resignation:

The election will occur primarily electronically as permitted by our By-Laws.

An email will be sent in due course with relevant information to all voting members to vote electronically. Those who require paper ballots must write the Secretary, Dr. David Wang.

Per the by-laws, the Nominating Committee has named the following slate of candidates for this year's election:

I want to uphold the mission of ACS: “To advance the broader chemistry enterprise and its practitioners for the benefit of Earth and its people” and further ACS vision of “Improving people's lives through the transforming power of chemistry.

As a chair my goals are:

  • Increase our sections’ visibility.
  • Involve the schools of inner city Dayton in our events and programs.
  • Make ACS a platform for other chemists and chemical engineers in Dayton area to connect and enhance their professional development.
  • Contribute to public’s understanding of chemistry in their communities through outreach programs.

I’m interested in outreach and chemical education through research and collaborations in the Dayton area and I’m excited to get to support the local chapter of the ACS while helping students discover how Chemistry can lead to an exciting and challenging career.
